This wiki is intended to be a repository of information, documentation and help concerning the various technology systems supported and provided by the facilities group of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Carnegie Mellon University.
The primary purpose is to be a convenient place for the ECE Community to store information and documentation about how things work, here at ECE - the little nuggets of information about how to get the most from your technology resources
- Applications, information about application software.
- Backup, prepare for hardware failure and user error.
- Mail/News, for information about the mail systems.
- Microsoft Windows, for the taming of the Beasts from Redmond.
- Network, how do these machines talk?
- Policy, for non-technical rules about technical systems.
- Unix/Linux, for the care and feeding of our various unices.
