Christopher Weber is a research assistant professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering and member of the Green Design Institute at Carnegie Mellon University.

Brief Biography

Christopher Weber is a research assistant professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering and member of the Green Design Institute at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. His doctoral research at Carnegie Mellon involved the connections between international trade, economic growth, and the environmental and climate impacts of household consumption in the U.S. and China, and his current research interests involve climate change and the use of life cycle assessment and input-output analysis in business and government policy.

His research interests include: Environmental implications of globalization and international trade, Life-cycle assessment of household consumption patterns, Uncertainty in life-cycle assessment and input-output analysis, Environmental Impacts of food production and consumption patterns, Carbon footprinting and carbon labeling in environmental policy

He received his Ph.D. degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Civil & Environmental Engineering and Engineering & Public Policy (2008) His Thesis Title was “Globalizing Consumption: An Input-Output Analysis of the Environmental Impacts of American Consumption at Different Spatial Levels” He received his M.S. degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Civil & Environmental Engineering(2005) and his B.S. degree from University of Iowa in Civil and Environmental Engineering (2004)
