Foundations of Computer-Aided Process Operations

The main objective of the conference is to create a forum where the main contributions of process modeling and optimization in the area of process operations will be discussed and the remaining challenges identified. It is our goal to expand the boundaries of process operations to include both, small and large, fast and slow, scales and probe the problems that arising when modeling considers smaller scales down to the molecular level as well as when the whole supply chain is incorporated. Bringing together academic and industrial participants from around the world, the conference will provide a unique environment for discussion of the past, present and future successes in the area of computational process operations, but also the missed opportunities and failures. This will lead to identification of the main road blocks and efficient ways to overcome these difficulties so that there is an efficient collaboration of academic institutions and process oriented industries such as chemicals, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, biochemicals, energy and environmental, food and beverages, electronics and materials.
