The ASME IDETC/CIE conference is the premier international meeting in the fields of Design Engineering and Computers and Information in Engineering. This event is designed to showcase cutting edge research and accomplishments, and to enrich the educational experience in these fields. The purpose of this meeting is to advance the understanding of the base of knowledge that we will collectively draw upon in the years ahead to meet the challenges and realize opportunities.

The 2008 ASME IDETC/CIE Conference will be held August 3-6, 2008 at the New York Marriot at the Brooklyn Bridge. This event is the premier international meeting in the fields of Design Engineering and Computers and Information in Engineering. It is designed to showcase cutting-edge research and accomplishments, and to enrich educational experiences in these fields. It will feature tutorials, research workshops and sessions featuring technical papers for the following conferences:

This year, 875 papers have been submitted to the 2008 IDETC & CIE, which is a record for an even-year conference. Technical paper sessions, as well as plenary sessions, keynote lectures, and tutorials on topics related to engineering designs are being organized. Industrial participation is solicited and encouraged, and the interaction between the research and industrial communities will be strongly promoted during the conference.
