Jeremy J. Michalek (me-HA-leck or Michałek), aka. "J", is a professor of Mechanical Engineering and Engineering & Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University and Director of the Design Decisions Laboratory.

Brief Biography

Jeremy J. Michalek is an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering & Engineering and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University. He is the Director of the Design Decisions Laboratory and a member of the Green Design Institute and the Center for Product Strategy and Innovation. His current research focuses on systems optimization, design for market systems, green design and environmental policy.

Jeremy earned his B.S. from Carnegie Mellon (1999) and his M.S. (2001) and Ph.D. (2005) from the University of Michigan in Mechanical Engineering. In 2005 he worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Michigan before beginning his current faculty position at Carnegie Mellon.
