Talk:Babyproof door knob lock
From DDL Wiki
We received your report, and you have some interesting results, but we would like to see some additional detail in a few areas. Comments follow:
- Please include a picture of the product at the top of the document
- Good intro in executive summary, but please put your findings and conclusions up front so that we don’t have to dig for them.
- Good description of basic customer needs, but it may help to list more depth on issues such as safety, durability, etc.
- A functional description detailing how the doorknob works appears to be missing. Such a description, with a figure to aid explanation, would make the functionality much more clear.
- Great parts list - are the parts of unknown use unnecessary? Is the inner doorknob a single component or an assembly? Is every component of quantity 1?
- Interesting thoughts on DFMA - do you have suggestions for improving the latch design for assembly?
- Your FMEA is just a data table - what are your major findings and recommendations?
- Would an increased tab size improve friction force for turning the knob? Friction force is normal force times mu - surface area doesn’t seem to be part of the equation...
- Is there also a possibility of children working the cover off of the doorknob - or on the other hand adult users having difficulty removing the cover from the doorknob?
- The explanation of quantitative analysis appears reasonable, but the actual numbers appear to be missing. What are the estimated forces for this design?
- How would incorporation of the doorknob cover into the doorknob itself reduce manufacturing emissions from your LCA?
