Videos of Consumer Use

  • Water Siphon Demonstration: This video shows a siphon user who has perfected the advanced method of siphon operation (described here) in order to clean rocks and empty dirty water from an aquarium.
  • Expert Siphon Use: This video demonstrates how one user with many large aquariums siphons out the debris collected at the bottom of the tank. Although these tanks are commonly cleaned using an entrance tube and an overflow mechanism, this method does not clean the debris located at the bottom of the tank. In this video, Tim Gross of A & B Oddball Pets and Aquariums creates a siphon using his mouth as well as a unique device where one simply shakes the attachment to create a siphon.
  • High Volume Fish Tank Cleaning: This video demonstrates a method that A & B Oddball Pets and Aquariums uses to change the water in a 10 gallon fish tank. In this video, Tim Gross describes how he inserst a tube into the tank that flows at five gallons per minute as well as an overflow that flows out directly into the sewer. He demonstrates that it takes a minute to do a 50 percent water change in a 10 gallon tank. Additional footage can be found here.
