Report Requirements

ONE PER TEAM - Wiki Page DUE MAR 8 2007

Submit update of Report #1, responding to client comments. Respond to each of the client comments in the discussion tab, indicating where in the report you have addressed the item. For the new Report #2 content, you have two options:

  1. If you are not concerned about the material being public (i.e.: if you are certain that your team will not wish to patent anything), you can submit your report as a second wiki page linked from the first.
  2. If there is a possibility that your team may patent one of the ideas you come up with, you may submit Report #2 as a traditional Word or PDF document via blackboard instead. In either case, be sure to include a proper executive summary in Report 2.

From the client letter:

  • Please provide any updates to the wiki report on the analysis of our current product
  • Please provide a description of your research and observations. Define the design problem as you understand it, and identify insights and opportunities
  • Please provide sketches and descriptions of your top three to five design concepts, describing what opportunities have been identified and how they will be addressed. Compare pros and cons of each on a standard Pugh chart.

...also, although the client didn't specifically ask for a VOA, I have asked you to provide one as part of your way of communicating the opportunity.

Report Should Include

Product Analysis Overview

  • Major customer needs and product requirements
  • Explaination of how the system functions (Appendix)
    • Pictures of all compenents (Appendix)
